rocket_launch Getting Started with USSD Pay

USSD Pay is designed to make mobile payments offline, fast, and accessible utilizing your carrier's secure USSD network. Follow these initial steps to set up your profile.

  1. 1
Grant Telephone Permissions: When you open the app for the first time, you must grant "Telephone/Call" permissions. This is strictly required so the app can send automated MMI/USSD codes (like *123#) securely over your network without needing an active internet connection.
  2. 2
Set Up Your Phone Number (Optional): Enter your personal phone number on the welcome screen. This makes it easier for the app to generate a personal QR Code that friends can scan to pay you later.
  3. 3
Choose Dual SIM Options: If your phone utilizes two SIM cards, USSD Pay will detect them. Head to Settings to designate which SIM card is linked to your mobile wallet.

Note: USSD Pay operates entirely offline. None of your data, PIN numbers, or transaction logs are sent to external third-party servers. All data remains recorded locally on your device.

  3. 3

  4. 4
Enter Your 4-Digit PIN: This is the secret Wallet PIN mandated by your mobile carrier to verify transactions. USSD Pay automatically integrates it into the hidden dial string.
  5. 5
Confirm & Send: Tap "Pay Now." A bottom confirmation sheet will appear asking you to verify the amount and recipient. Tap "Confirm" to securely dial the network code.

quiz Troubleshooting & FAQs

Common questions and resolutions for wallet synchronization and connection issues.

Why did my transaction fail with an "MMI Code Error"?
If you receive a pop-up directly from Android stating your carrier's MMI code is invalid or connection dropped:

1. Verify that your cellular signal is strong.
2. Verify that Airplane Mode is disabled.
3. Review your selected SIM card. If your wallet is tied to SIM 2, but USSD Pay is instructed to dial via SIM 1, the carrier will reject it. Change this in the USSD Pay Settings tab.
How do I change the App Language?
USSD Pay officially supports both English and Arabic. Navigate to the Settings tab via the bottom navigation bar, tap App Language, and toggle your preferred language. The interface will instantly convert to LTR (Left-to-Right) or RTL (Right-to-Left) seamlessly.
How do I generate my own QR Code?
Ensure you have successfully registered your phone number during the onboarding sequence or from the settings. Once entered, tapping the My QR Code icon on the home screen will display a unique code reflecting your phone number that friends can scan directly from their own app.
Can I review my past transactions?
Yes. Tap the History tab located on the bottom navigation bar to view a chronological ledger of the transactions you have performed successfully. This ledger is securely stored locally on your device hardware to respect your privacy.
